Sundays lesson brought to us by Elena and Abbie

Hey everyone!

Abbie and Elena have worked hard this week to prepare our lesson for Sunday. They have asked that everyone bring their For Strength of Youth pamphlets and they also want us to read/listen to a talk given by Elder Bednar called " Receive the Holy Ghost"

Lets all try really hard to do these two things so we can have a great lesson!

Thanks!

Lesson Prep

Wow! It's been faaarrr too long since I updated our blog! Sorry team. We have a great lesson planned for tomorrow but I need everyone to try their best to be prepared so it can be extra special.

Here's your homework:

Click on the link below, read, and print out a copy to bring to class.

Your Baptismal Covenant

I want you to pay special attention to anything new you might have learned and pay special attention to promises we made when we were baptized. Mark up and highlight it as much as you can with all the "goodies" you find so we can talk about it in class.

Next...

Watch, listen to, or read the talk by Carole M. Stephens (click the talk title and it will take you to the actual talk:)

"We Have Great Reason to Rejoice"

After I want you to jot down a few things you can do to more fully keep your baptismal covenants at all times and in all places. (Bring that to Church as well)

OK.... this might take a little bit of your time but it will be great! Thanks for being willing to help and I'll see you in class:)

If you have ANY trouble finding or getting to the links I've provided please let me know and we can figure it all out.

Lesson prep...

Hey everyone!

I'm super excited for our lesson today, "Why is the First Vision important?" Please click the link below and complete this little "assignment" (see below) for our lesson. I thought it would be cool if we shared some of our answers with each other so come prepared to do just that.

*Scroll down and look at the first bullet point under the section "Learn together." Once there you can click the link to see the talk mentioned below but here it is in case you have a hard time finding it.

  • Invite the young women to write down some of the blessings they have received because of the First Vision. Ask them to look for other blessings of the First Vision as they read the last 10 paragraphs of President Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s talk “The Fruits of the First Vision.” Invite them to share what they find and their feelings about the importance of the First Vision.

prep for tomorrows lesson!

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to see you all tomorrow.
Our lesson is entitled:
" What does it mean to have faith in Jesus Christ"

Please be sure to look over the lesson and the readings.

Come prepared to share an example of a woman from the scriptures who showed great faith and read the talk By Elder Nash " By Faith all things are fulfilled"

This will really help make for a great discussion and there will be treats for those of you who do this little assignment in prep for tomorrow so don't miss out spiritually and don't let your taste buds down!

Our lesson topic for tomorrow will be...

"Why do we have adversity?"

Why doesn't everyone check out some of the scriptures or selected talks under our topic heading and do some reading to prepare for Sister Hird's lesson tomorrow.

Good?

Homework for Sunday

Thanks for stopping by!
I was trying to think of a better way to communicate with you girls throughout the week other than mass texts/emails that seem to never reach everyone. I figure everyone has computer access either at home or at school so now we are all on the same page!
So this is how this is gonna work:
Anyone can post on the blog. I was thinking it might be fun for people to spotlight each other, or just post a quote or thought every now and then that they like so it's not just me all the time. Let me know if you have something in mind and we'll get it posted.
Also, the link to the right called "Come Follow Me" with the picture of the Savior will take you to the lds.org website where you can select the month and our topic for class each Sunday. This is a great way for everyone to come prepared for class each week. Go ahead... click it now and do some exploring if you haven't already. I'll make sure to post the topic at the beginning of each week so you can look it up and listen to the Conference talks or read some scriptures that will have to do with the lesson. If you have time to check facebook you have time to listen to one conference talk each week;) So do!
Let's get going then?! I'm teaching the lesson on Sunday and the topic is "The Godhead: Who are the roles of the Holy Ghost?" So start by clicking the picture of the Savior. Once you do that you'll be on the lds.org website in the "Come Follow Me" section. To the left you should see the months listed with subtopics next to each month. Click on January and once you do that find the link called "What are the roles of the Holy Ghost." Here you will find the scriptures, talks, videos, and all the content that I will be studying for the lesson on Sunday. Now it's your turn. Do some studying so our lesson on Sunday can be AWESOME!

xoxo S. Ries
Holla!

Welcome!
